Red is a classic Lip colour for a reason_it can be rocked with any ensemble be it messy bed hair and jeans to an evening gown with heels. However many women insist that red lipstick does not look good on everyone.
As a red lip lover myself I have come to terms with how my crimson lipsticks can quickly take my look to another level. I have also learnt that some red shades look better on me than any others. The truth of the matter is that we are blessed with an endless spectrum of hues. So there is literally a red shade for every single woman despite their colour. Just like finding the right foundation we try some brands and products before we find the right one that fits.

1. It`s a symbol of prowess. Unlike other cosmetics_many of which correct or camoufladge something we don`t like about ourselves. Red lipstick is about assertion. Whenever I convince red lipstick virgin into wearing it they often say they feel like they could do anything after wearing it.

When a woman is young it is believed that their lips are much redder. It creates an image of youth. When older women wear red lipstick they can mimic that effect by creating a strong contrast again.
3.The redness of the lips decreases with aging but the skin that surrounds the lips actually becomes more red so the redness contrast between lip and the rest of the face decreases with age and that can be manipulated with makeup.
4.Red lipstick makes one more competent at work. It has been proven that women who wear bold makeup are peceived as being more likeable and competent in the workplace. When men and women were asked to look at pictures of women of all races with different degree of makeup on. The pictures of women with red lip makeup are viewed as being more competent than the ones who are bare-faced.
